    WorkCare is seeking qualified candidates for a Director, Industrial Athlete Program

     

    This position can work remotely, in Anaheim, CA, Salt Lake City, UT or Alameda, CA and requires travel to Anaheim and client locations across the US ~50% of time.

     

    This position is responsible for developing and managing two key WorkCare programs: a best practice Industrial Athlete (IA) Program and an innovative Soft Tissue Conditioning Program. 

     

    WorkCare’s Industrial Athlete Program includes but is not limited to, ergonomic assessments and task analysis, guidance on stretching and proper body mechanics, education to help Industrial Athletes (workers) manage fatigue and stress, instruction on work conditioning and general fitness and diet, first aid to relieve physical discomfort, and using work activities as therapy during recovery.

     

    The Soft Tissue Conditioning Program includes proprietary bio-ergonomic surveillance technology and promotes a comprehensive approach that begins with preconditioning and systematically follows employees through the cycle of symptomatic intervention through full recovery.  

     

    The Director will participate in business development activities and new client implementations for all programs within this emerging service line.

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with WorkCare’s clinical and operations team in establishing WorkCare’s Industrial Athlete Program
      • Develop and maintain protocols, standards, policies and procedures for IA Program service line
      • Create IA Program training and operations manual, update as necessary
    • Work closely with WorkCare’s clinical and operations team in establishing WorkCare’s Soft Tissue Conditioning Program
      • Bio-Ergonomic Surveillance – create task-specific injury risk profiles and inform preventive interventions
      • Stretch and Flex program – develop content based on assessment to be integrated with Application (APP)
    • Produce, deliver and continuously improve quality written, video, audio and oral program presentation materials for internal and external customers to communicate information that supports the health and safety goals of the site(s)
    • Design quality control measure that test the implementation of programs
      • Implement change management strategies as needed to support organizational objectives
    • Responsible for implementations of all programs
      • Work closely with WorkCare physician and onsite operations team during implementation process of new worksite(s)
      • Ensure Clinicians have appropriate training and other resources to perform their jobs.
      • Ensure proper equipment/supplies are in place at site location in accordance with client and program specifications
    • Demonstrate excellence in communication to represent program value to a diverse population of employees. Strategize with management and other peers for development, execution and planning of program to ensure success.
    • Oversight and management of Athletic Trainers/Clinicians
      • Manage Athletic Trainers/Clinicians in accordance with WorkCare’s philosophy, policies and practices.
        • Review and approve assigned staffs timesheets as needed
        • Ensure staff are performing the appropriate duties and responsibilities in accordance with WorkCare’s programs
        • Ensure staff has proper and current credentialing
        • Provide performance management feedback
    • Provision of clinical services to the extent possible based on licensure:  
        • Filling in during absence of site clinician within applicable state licensure guidelines
        • During initial implementation before clinician hired/trained
    • Assist in business development for all related programs:
      • Develops new sales opportunities by attending local, regional and national conferences, and identifies new prospects.
      • Utilizes marketing campaigns, leads, referrals, industry events and proactive research to prospect new clients.
      • Identifies new business opportunity venues and develops recommendations.
      • Devises innovative ways to generate sales leads and retain/increase revenue.
    • Performs additional duties and assumes additional responsibilities as identified by supervisor for the efficient operation of WorkCare.

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, Ergonomics, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy or related field
    • At least 5 years’ experience in program management and operations
    • Demonstrated experience in program development
    • Industrial / Occupational experience in prevention and/or ergonomics
    • Strong business acumen, creativity, and action oriented problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated ability to build teams, manage people and manage client relationships
    • Excellent strategic customer engagement skills
    • Excellent data analysis skills
    • Successful in collaboration with leaders and external partners, able to develop effective business relationships leveraging these to create sound business strategies
    • Strong written and oral communication
    • Proficient in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ability to learn other software and systems

     

    Preferred Certifications

    • National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC), Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS), Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP), National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) or similar designations in a related field
