We are currently looking for a Full Time Director, Information Technology to join our team in Anaheim, CA.  

 

Responsibilities

The Director, Information Technology will oversee and evaluate all technology operations, including network security. Contribute to the overall IT strategy by providing assessment of hardware options and process options.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Creates and maintains documentation for hardware, network and phone systems
  • Recommends IT policy and procedure additions, changes and updates
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems
  • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols
  • Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls
  • Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements
  • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor as necessary
  • Secures network by developing network access
  • Identifies and recommends security enhancements
  • Implements, enforces and ensures compliance with information technology security policies and procedures
  • Performs security audits as needed
  • Administers, performs, monitors, and maintains backups of servers; ensures proper functioning of backup process according to WorkCare’s disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Administers, maintains and supports phone systems for all WorkCare locations
  • Installs, administers, maintains and supports all peripheral office equipment including, but not limited to, photocopiers, mail machines, video surveillance, and office door security system
  • Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
  • Control budget and report on expenditure
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and create cost-effective contracts
  • Provides user help desk support pertaining to hardware and/or desktop issues
  • Provides on-call IT support

 

Qualifications

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, emphasis in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or comparable years of experience in computer hardware and network administration or in a related area
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 8 or more years of direct relevant experience
  • CISSP or Comp TIA Security + certifications preferred
  • Must have expertise with computer hardware, firewall equipment, virus protections, spam management software
  • Considerable knowledge with Cisco networking environment and other related hardware and hardware administration/monitoring-related software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn new software as required
  • Experience supervising employees a plus
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality
  • Critical thinking skills; make independent decisions in accordance to company policy and procedures
  • Take initiative on issues that arise daily
  • Must be able to adjust and is flexible to meet changing work  needs and demands
  • Must have a strong customer focus, a demonstrated ability to work within a team of service-oriented individuals and a passionate commitment for extraordinary levels of service quality and customer satisfaction
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional approach with others in job-demanding, multitasking and/or project support situations
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the ability to describe and present business ideas and concepts in a clear, concise and understandable manner to technical and non-technical individuals; the skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • The ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.

 

This position requires sitting for long periods of time. Working in office environment. Some bending and stretching required. Working under stress and use of telephone required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling and/or crouching. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.  Requires lifting and carrying of computer equipment.
