Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a Full Time Paramedic to work at a client site in Green Valley, AZ.

 

 

This position is responsible for performing regulatory testing, injury/illness care, wellness education for employees within the scope of practice, the structure of the Client Standards, policies, procedures and treatment care guidelines.

 

  • Maintains all pertinent medical records required by federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Provides first aid care and appropriate follow-up to occupationally injured/ill workers as defined within scope of practice and directed by Medical Director. Consults with WorkCare Incident Intervention Line to initiate case and get further direction from on-call MD.
  • Completes required electronic injury report forms and all other documentation. 
  • Inspects and/or calibrates clinic equipment upon arrival of each shift to ensure all equipment is ready for use.
  • Maintains communication with the Clinic Manager, Physician, Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner regarding employee updates.
  • Participates in general flow of clinic operations as an administrative assistant (answers phones, checks mail, medical records, filing, copying charts, traffic control).
  • Case management of occupational illness/injury.
  • Ensures that employees have appropriate return-to-work clearances
  • Coordinates employee new hire exams, medical surveillance and exit exams.
  • Regulatory testing as required by Freeport (audio, spirometry, drug and alcohol)
  • Check exam rooms each shift:

              1. Make sure rooms are appropriately stocked

              2. Assure you are familiar with location of items needed during patient care

              3. Check that exam rooms are clean and organized for each shift

  • Ensure that medical supplies are ordered on a monthly and as needed basis.
  • Becomes familiar with the mine/site, especially aware of areas in the mine/site most likely to require a hazardous material response.
  • Each shift login to computer, check emails, log hours worked.
  • Other duties as assigned or those duties that may be required, as management deems necessary.

Qualifications

 

  • Current Paramedic license preferred, but not required
  • Current BLS required
  • At least 3 years' of former experience as a Paramedic preferred
  • Requires ability to work independently
  • Must possess decision making skills based on strong professional and clinical judgment.
  • Must be service-oriented and possess strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Competent in the Windows operating system environment; Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and learn other software as needed.

This position is located at an open-pit mine where there will be exposure to dust, loud noise on occasion and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
