We are currently looking for a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our client site in Green Valley, AZ. 




  • On-site Occupational Medicine Clinic management. Including but not limited to:
    • Patient care and treatment for occupational injuries/illnesses
    • Administration of regulatory exam testing, as needed
    •  Resolves issues and handles problems independently and in collaboration with WorkCare Medical Director
    • Maintains frequent communication with WorkCare Medical Director and on-site Clinic Manager regarding all clinic issues and client requests
  • Medical Records and Private Health Information:
    • Assists with computer data entry of all employee demographic and health information, as needed
    • Responsibly handles and guards Protected Health information
    • Follows all HIPAA laws, regulations and guidelines
  • Employee Care, Treatment and Testing:
    • Provides first-aid, medical treatment and appropriate follow-up to occupationally ill/injured workers consistent with appropriate standards and laws
    • Provides return-to-work clearances in accordance with client protocol
    • Performs effective case management follow-up for injuries/illness and absences in accordance with client protocol
    • Provides counseling to employees on employment risk reduction initiatives
    • Provides ergonomic evaluations and/or work with ergonomist on resolving ergonomic issues with client company employees
  • Medical Oversight/Direction
    • When present in clinic, oversees and directs medical treatment of injured or ill client employees/contractors
    • May direct/oversee WorkCare Occupational Health Technicians and XRAY Tech/MA to perform medical treatments and medical surveillance skills within their respective scope of practice



  • Demonstrates the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality
  • Possess critical thinking skills and the ability to operationalize comprehensive , safe and effective occupational medical practice
  • Comfortable managing traumatic injuries and occasional emergent situations (e.g., suturing, wound care, minor fractures, dehydration, diabetic emergencies, chest pain, respiratory difficulties, etc.)
  • Willing/able to make independent medical decisions in accordance with published standards, scope of practice and company policies and procedures
  • Willing/able to take initiative in order to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge base to effectively manage care within an occupational setting
  • Willing/able to manage and prioritize simultaneous tasks and to organize resources for goal attainment
  • Maintains a professional demeanor/approach during stressful circumstances
  • Able to create and modify written materials and to initiate and complete self-directed projects when needs are identified
  • Maintains effective communication and management skills with a varied work force
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, compile information and prepare reports
  • Possesses strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Nurse Practitioner Requirements:

Current, unrestricted AZ FNP or ANP license with national certification is required.  Unrestricted DEA license.  Current ACLS/BLS certifications.  A minimum of 3 years advanced practice experience with prior occupational medicine background is preferred. 


Physician Assistant Requirements:

Current, unrestricted AZ PA license required with national certification.  Unrestricted DEA license.  Current ACLS/BLS certifications.  A minimum of 3 years of PA experience with prior occupational medicine background is preferred.


This position is located at an open-pit mine where there will be exposure to dust, loud noise on occasion and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
